Great extension for any video community

Hopefully the guys get some more options of sites to import from soon and i will be back to leave another review. I have tested the component on Joomla 1.5 and Joomla 1.6 with jomsocial 2 and 2.2 RC3 and have had no problems on either.

What's great about it

This component is simple to use, powerful and fast. The ability to add to category and search via keyword or username is invaluable. Easily import hundreds of videos based on keywords in less than a minute (depending on server speed). To add a lot of videos to my site previously I had to search google with SEO quake turned on, save the CSV of results and then use a macro to copy and paste results 1 at a time into jomsocial. The problem was it took hours and was not much faster than adding them manually. Chola increased production at least 500% at a guess. The ability to import youtube statistics is perfect as it gives your users the illusion that you have had a lot more visitors/viewers than you really have. Performance is great and the component is very light weight.
I have had a couple of questions and submitted support tickets and their response time and dedication to solving any problems is second to none. I have purchased many components for jomsocial from other developers and never wanted to leave a review, but with chola i felt compelled to give a big THUMBS UP for their efforts. I would definitely purchase more chola products in the future when I can afford to do so. I have tested the component on Joomla 1.5 and Joomla 1.6 with jomsocial 2 and 2.2 RC3 and have had no problems on either. Keep up the good work guys.

What's not so great

Only youtube is enabled at the time of righting this review. Would love to see Vimeo, Justin.tv and other video sites added asap. If their were more choices of sites to import from it would of gotten 5 stars from me on performance. Also the licence only works on 1 domain which is a slight setback how ever I can see this is to stop people freely distributing this component online.

Chola Mass Embedder

This is a great tool to get your website up and going with 10, 50, 1000 or more videos quick. Easy install and great customer service if there are any problems. We use it on our new website Security 2.0, "Social Media for Security" at Security20.com.

Thanks for all your assistance. The Chola Mass Video Embedder saved us countless hours.

Chola Video Mass Embedder

Everything is working fine. One thing I would suggest is putting the component on the JED (www.joomla.org) as took me ages to find over the Internet….You can see at http://www.aerosolplanet.com/index.php?option=com_community&view=videos&Itemid=63 my videos have increased from about 200 to over 14,000.
